Against the backdrop of strict regulation on the interbank business of commercial banks, innovative interbank internet platforms have emerged. Currently, a pattern has been formed in which joint-stock banks are flourishing, and state-owned banks and city commercial banks are accelerating their entry into the market. However, the overall development of interbank internet platforms is still in the early exploratory stage. The risks that may arise from the platforms and the obstacles to their future development are the key points worthy of our discussion and research. This article briefly describes the background and development history of interbank internet platforms, summarizes the significance of establishing interbank internet platforms, and reveals the possible business risks of interbank internet platforms as well as the contradictions and obstacles to their future development.
